摘要

The Resistivity-Phase IP Profiling is a phase IP sounding technique combining the dense-sampling resistivity profiling acquisition procedure with phase IP principle, which is characterized by high resolution and large detection depth. The principle, field procedure and technical features of the technique are briefly introduced in the paper. A case history of an archaeological investigation in the Qinshihuang's Tomb is also described. The test survey, for proving the existence of the underground palace and its location, size and depth and preservative condition, was successfully performed with rather good results obtained. The results show that the RPIP profiling is effective in the archaeological investigation at Qinshihuang's tomb and should have prospects for coming archaeological investigations.
