Efficient machine and control technology, combined with consistent plant engineering, considerably improve the performance of complex packaging plants as regards packaging quality and throughput. Increased speed of production, but, most of all, markedly increased availability because of lower maintenance requirements allow higher output per shift and per year. A constantly developing market and new sales channels lead to increased demands on the packaging of building materials. The following contribution lists the constraints of today and illustrates approaches to overcoming them.
