WORKS DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR A CEMENT WORKS

The Warta Cement Works (PL) with a total production capacity of ca. 2 million tonnes clinker per year is made up of two independent production areas. At Warta I, four wet kilns are in use, each with a production capacity of 550 t/d. Warta II operates with one kiln in the semi-dry process (1,600 t/d) and one kiln line in the dry process (3,000 t/d). The two production areas operate in parallel, and apart from a few slight overlaps function independently of each other, and thus have the complete range of installations, starting with the raw material preparation, via clinker production in rotary kilns right down to the cement grinding and the dispatch of cement by rail and truck. After thorough review of the existing production installations with regard to profitability and the possibilities for future works development, the following aims are being pursued in the long term by the works management: 1. Further staged modernisation of the installations in the Warta II area connected with capacity expansions of the individual operating units 2. Shutdown of a large part of the Warta Ⅰ operating units 3. Relocation and concentration of clinker and cement production to the Warta Ⅱ production lines So as to be able to implement this wide-ranging restructuring and modernisation of the works accurately and in an organised manner, a structure and works development plan for the Warta cement works with a time horizon of circa 10 years has been developed.
