A new design of wearable units is proposed in this paper for establishing personal fitting process in the wellness environment. Integrating measurement and control functions into one unit separately from each machine, we can transform physical activities into electrical signals in real-time for customizing the property of each machine. This will lead to the enhancement or compensation of degenerating physical activities. A prototype of the wearable unit had an on-board 12-bit AD converter, the two types of PCMCIA and the compact flash type slots, and the IP address via wire and wireless. By the wearable unit and a history database, the appropriate workload pattern determined by cycle ergometor indoor exercise could be applied to a torque-assisted bicycle in the field.
