A segmentation technique for overlapping fruits using a thinning algorithm

The precise and quick detection of the position and size of a fruit are required in the machine vision system of a harvesting robot. Separation of a specified fruit from among fruits and leaves is the most important task in the detection process. It becomes hard when some fruits overlap with each other. We made thinning algorithm for separation of overlapped fruits. In the result, we could detect the position and size of fruits.
