Metallized injection moulded polymers for microwave applications

Microwave and millimeterwave sensor and communication modules for automotive and aerospace systems need heat and corrosion resistant, electromagnetically shielded, reliable packages with some other important properties as listed in table 1. For instance, injection-moulded polymer packages for electronic high frequency components must be coated with high quality metal layers for electromagnetic compatibility, for-gas tightness, for high electrical surface conductivity, and for the applicability of interconnection and packaging processes.
