MESOZOIC THRUST TECTONICS IN YANSHAN INTRAPLATE OROGENIC BELT

摘要

The Yanshan orogenic belt is a typical intraplate orogen which developed within the stable North China platform during Mesozoic period. The characteristics of thrust faults in Yanshan intraplate oroginic belt are as follows: ①They scatter randomly in entire orogen without associated tight liner fold; ②They thrust toward inner part of Mesozoic basins during their formation; ③The basement is combosed of Archean crystalline rocks and was involved into the thrusting deformation, thus they are thick-skinned structures; ④ Thrust faults are characterized by shallowing upward, with more vertical movement component. The thrust faults in this orogenic belt may be a result of differential vertical uplift accmpanied by horizontal compression.
