Improved Data Integrity of Truck Fleet at Minera Los Pelambres

One of the main objectives of the Los Pelambres mine, from the end of 2018 to date, was to increasethe data integrity generated of its truck fleet, taking it to values over to 70 % to assure an optimumperformance of the system.In a cumulative distribution of the spot times and load times, the data integrity is the percentage ofthe data which are between the first decile and the double of the median in both, loading and spotting,it means the Data Integrity considers these two measures.To achieve this objective, the superintendence of programming and operational management (POMSI), in conjunction with Modular Mining (MM) focused on improving the main factors that affect theintegrity of data, among which are the spot and loading times of trucks, the use of the dynamicassignment of trucks to shovel and the use of the optimal routes through the control of lost beacons.In this project the following activities were carried out: i) Automation of the truck hauling cycle inDISPATCH~R; ii) review of configuration parameters in DISPATCH~R; iii) on-site training fordispatchers with emphasis on exception handling; iv) review and update of the MineGraphics inDISPATCH~R; v) permanent monitoring of communications status, GPS and truck interface; vi)generation of weekly integrity reports for control and management.
