Electric discharge machining is an advanced technique used for machining electrically conductive materials where the tool and workpiece do not touch each other. In this work, Taguchi method has been utilized for design of experimentation for machining Inconel 718 super alloy. Taguchi's L16 experiments were conducted and subsequently analysed to evaluate the consequence of different input parameters such as peak current, pulse on time, pulse off time, flushing pressure and silicon powder concentration on surface roughness of workpiece sample. Analysis of results revealed roughness to escalate with the rise in pulse on time, peak current and pulse duration.
