Artificial intelligence (AI) and its application in modeling of different machining processes is gaining interest among many researchers since the past few years. Fuzzy logic, a popular AI technique, can efficiently be used to model those processes to predict various performance measures (responses) as well as to determine the optimal combination of different process parameters for achieving the desired response values. In this paper, fuzzy logic technique is implemented to develop a fuzzy model representing various responses of a wire-cut electrical discharge machining (WEDM) process while identifying the relationship s between its input parameters and measured responses. The predicted response values obtained from the proposed model are found to be in close agreement with those investigated during the experimental trial runs. Furthermore, to understand the effects of various WEDM process parameters on the responses, the corresponding interaction plots are also developed. These plots would play significant roles in identifying different combinations of the WEDM process parameters so as to achieve the desired response values.
