In this paper, we solve the problem of estimation of both states and critical parameters when a predictive control strategy is used for induction motor (IM). The unknown inputs observer (UIO) and an update technique are proposed as elegant and efficient solutions. Indeed, the rotor and stator resistance are recovered as unknown inputs. Moreover, the load torque is estimated on-line, as well as the rotor fluxes components. Motivated by the result of following accurately the on-line machine variables, the estimation techniques are incorporated in the drive structure of the IMs. Such design attempts to a fully decoupling in speed and flux magnitude regulation without quality degradation. The theoretical studies are supported by simulations results in order to show the effectiveness of the presented approach.
