Ultrasonic velocity and density measurements of citric acid and tartaric acid at different concentrations in double distilled water and in aqueous NaCl and MgCl_2 have been carried out at 298.15, 303.15 and 308.15K in solute concentration of 1-5% gm.The experimental data have been used to calculate various acoustical parameters such as change in ultrasonic velocity (Δu), relative change in ultrasonic velocity (Au/ u_0) and intermolecular free lengths. The results suggest the presence of molecular interactions. The effect of temperature variation on the strength of molecular interactions has been studied and the data have been quantitatively explained in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions.
