Effect of the Device Geometry on the Contact Characteristics of Organic Field-Effect Transistors

Two-dimensional finite-element simulation was used to investigate ihe effect of the OFETs geometry on their contact characteristics. In contrast to the coplanar structure, staggered OFETs present gate-induced charges that are uniformly distributed over the whole channel, so that the drain current is very little limited by the contact resistance.
