In this paper, by attaching a nano-composite scattering film (NCSF) inside/outside the substrate of OLED, we performed comparison studies of effects of external and internal optical extraction structures on OLED optical out-coupling. The external quantum efficiency (EQE) of conventional bottom-emitting OLEDs can be effectively improved by 1.3x with external NCSF and by 1.7x with internal NCSF).
