We describe a Canadian patient with Klebsiella pneumoniae subacute necrotizing fasciitis (NF) and review the literature related to the clinical presentation of this nascent disease. There are at least 52 cases of Klebsiella NF reported worldwide with an increasing incidence in the past two decades. Klebsiella can be a cause of severe soft tissue infections especially among patients with diabetes, chronic liver disease, another focus of infection, and recent travel to Asia.
