Hospital is one of industries that provided health services for the customer. In hospital, the employee should work perfectly concerning their job to avoid from mistake and give a good service to the patient as a customer. Meanwhile the employee has limitation to complete all of task. Imbalance of task and their limitation can act as a stressor that affect to adaptation capacity. The employee will easy to get sick and absent from their job. The employee must be substituted by another and can disturb the schedule of work and affect to their performance and hospital profit. The hospital should pay extra for the employee who work over time, pay for medical treatment of sick employee and risk for loss of income from the hospital room itself. The study has been conducted on one hospital and it's employee in Denpasar on 2005 -2006 who absent from work and must be treated as outpatient and hospitalized. Absenteeism data were collected from Human Resources Department and medical treatment cost was collected from Finance Department. The result showed that during 6 months there were 481 employees who treated in outpatient clinic and 23 employees must be hospitalized. The lost of working days from absenteeism was 239 working days or 1673 working hours and from hospitalized was 69 working days. The hospital must pay for medical treatment about Rp. 28,303,929.00.The hospital was loss of room cost that could not be sold because was used by the employee itself. Absenteeism of employee will affect to loss of working hours, increased of workload for substituted employee and finally decreasing their performance. The hospital profit will decrease due to increased of cost for medical treatment and loss of income from room rate. All of the multiple effects can disturb the hospital performance particularly in capital flow and finally decreasing personal income of employee. It's concluded that absent of employee will give multiple effect to the hospital's profit and the employee's performance.
