The aim of this study is to evaluate the convergent validity of the ErgoKit (EK) FCE lifting tests with self reported work ability. A longitudinal within-subject design with a one-year follow-up period was conducted among construction workers. Six weeks (baseline t0), six months (t1) and twelve months (t2) after the first sick leave day due to MSDs, construction workers performed two isometric (back torso and shoulder lift test) and three dynamic (carrying lifting, lower lifting and upper lifting) EK FCE lifting tests. The self reported work ability was assessed using the first question of the Work Ability Index (WA score) at t0, t1 and t2. Convergent validity for all EK lifting tests with WA score was poor six weeks after the first day of sick leave. At six and twelve months, the convergent validity was moderate for the EK carrying lifting strength test and the lower lifting strength test and poor for the other tests.
