摘要

A spurious timeout (STO) leads an unnecessary go-back-N retransmission and degradation of throughput, so that the user suffers from a negative impact on their TCP connection's performance. In this paper, we propose a STO detection and congestion window control algorithm for the suppression both unnecessary retransmission and throughput degradation. Mobile communications are the main target for this method, because it does not require either additional information or receiver's modification. The simulations in ns2 show the proposed algorithm can detect the STO and control the congestion window size sufficiently.
