Volume Free Electron Laser is a unique type of vacuum electron devices capable of producing high power radiation over an extremely wide range of frequencies. In contrast to the majority of similar devices it also can simultaneously emit pulses of different frequencies (wavelengths). Such property let to develop radar systems with new features and possibilities.
