Optimizaing unit-load design-a new systems approach to improving material handling efficiency

摘要

The unit-load material handling system used to transport and sote most manufactured product consists of three basic components. These are: 1) the packaging, 2) the unit-load base or ballet, and 3) the unit-load handling equipment. The way these components interact, and interact with the product, determines unit-load material handling efficiency.
