In natural gas-fired furnaces, the radiating properties of combustion gases are generally spectral dependent and are responsible for a considerable proportion of the radiation heat transfer. The purpose of this study is to develop a model based on the spectral behaviour of gaseous radiating molecules for computing both the spectral and total absorbtion/emission coefficient in three-dimensional enclosures.
