Fundamental characteristics of N_2O for mation/destruction are studied experimentally by changing the combustion conditions. A pulverized coal combustor, a bubbling fluidized bed coal combustor, an electrically heated laminar flow drop furnace and a packed bed reactor are used. N_2O formation/ destruction mechanisms are also disscussed theoretically by means of the chemical kinetic simulation of both a single particle combustion and homogeneous combustion models.
