Status of Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler Development in Korea

Status of distribution and operation of circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers in Korean industry was analyzed. The trend of power generation markets was analyzed and future expectation of CFB boiler distribution in Korean industry was forecasted. Also current status of CFB boiler operation and necessary issues to develop efficient CFB utility boilers for Korean market were discussed. Conceptual design of a commercial CFB co-generation boiler was made. In order to expand and apply the result of basic research to commercial boilers, design characteristics of commercial CFB boilers at service in Korean industries were presented. Also necessary issues on performance enhancement and trouble shooting of commercial CFB boilers were mentioned.
