摘要

In the image processing is generally required the access not to a single pixel, but to a group of them belonging to the same pattern. When each pixel is associated to a memory location (cell), a pattern will be represented by the correspondent set of cells. The purpose of this work is to introduce a particular method of parallel addressment to a set of cells belonging to the same pattern. The application here considered is referred to rectilineous pattern. The present study aims at defining an optimal implementation scheme by evaluating circuital complexity and its feasibility in VLSI technology. The architecture shown in this paper solves the disadvantages typical to both shared and distributed memory policy.
