There is a necessity to disinfect wastewater sludge from toxic substances such as heavy metal ions. A variant that excludes contact of excess activated sludge with these contaminants is considered. A method of ion flotation was proposed for this purpose. The possibility of ionic flotation of wastewater using excess activated sludge generated at biological purification plants as a collector is considered. A variant of introducing this method into a typical technological scheme of biological purification of wastewater is proposed. For the ion flotation method, a system of differential equations that describes the transitions between the states of the "bubble-collector-colligend" system is presented. A numerical solution is obtained - the dependence of the concentrations of various states on the time of the ion flotation process.
