The deployment of 5G networks is an essential requirement for the digital economy development. Firstly, this type of networking involves the use antennas of the wide frequency range 1–100 GHz. Secondly, network peculiarities involve placing antennas in open space, including the building roofs, residential buildings walls, bus stop shelters, sewer manhole covers on pavements. Based on these operational peculiarities, the losses due to the passage of electromagnetic energy through the precipitation layer on the surface of 5G antennas must be taken into account. If the known model of the electromagnetic wave propagation through a multilayered flat dielectric surface is applied to estimate the antenna power loss, the model parameters rationale is required. This is due to the fact that the meteorological precipitation intensity is largely determined by the climatic region of the antenna location. In addition, it is essential to have information on the frequency dependence of the electrical properties of meteorological precipitation in order to physically interpret the obtained loss estimates. The research results of electrical parameters for three types of precipitation (rain, icing, snow) in the frequency range of 1–100 GHz and different air temperatures are presented.
