摘要

Ductile fracture, probably the most common failure mode in metal alloys and polymers, is a type of fracture that is preceded by extensive plastic deformation. Within the context of computational modeling of ductile fracture, which is of great interest in industrial situations for which full-scale experiments are either too costly or even impracticable, this paper presents a new phase-field regularized cohesive zone model for ductile fracture. The proposed model, similar to existing phase-field ductile fracture models, can handle crack initiation, propagation, merging, coalescence and branching on fixed finite element meshes without ad hoc fracture criteria while possessing unique features such as length scale insensitivity.
