Among the fossil fuels, the brown coal is a great deal of resources. However, it is hardly used due to the high moisture content, high volatile matter and low calorific value. Gasification is defined as the thermochemical conversation of a rich carbon feedstock into syngas [1]. It is also a complex chemical process. Hence, understanding of fundamental reaction kinetics and reactivity is important. Generally, coal gasification is described as two-step process. The first step is the devolatilization. The second step is the gasification of the char . In this study, a comparison of two methods for gasification experiments of three different Mongolian brown coals under CO2 and steam were investigated and also, gas conversion rate was determined.
