Elastomeric fibers can be produced through the melt spinning of thermo-plastic elastomers (TPEs). Characteristics of the TPEs such as elastomeric recoverability, tensile properties, crystallizability, etc., are known to be influenced by the compositions of hard and soft segments (HS and SS) and the molecular weight of SS. In this research, high-speed melt spinning and in-line drawing processes were applied for the production of TPE fibers, and the effects of processing conditions as well as polymer designing on the structure and mechanical properties of the produced fibers was investigated.
