In the present work structural and dielectric investigations are carried out in magnesium ferrite/molybdenum trioxide (MFMO) [MgFe_2O_4-MoO_3 with 0.5:0.5 mass ratios] synthesized by mechano-chemical synthesis. Magnesium Ferrite and the MFMO are structurally characterized by XRD and SEM techniques. In the XRD pattern of the composite shows appearance of peaks MoO_3 along with that of MF thus confirms the formation of the composite. The MFMO shows crystalline nature with an average crystallite size of 12 nm. From SEM of images of MFMO, it is evident that the substitution of MoO_3 affects the microstructure of MF. The Alternating Current (AC) response parameters of MF and the MFMO were comparatively studied in the frequency range 10~2-10~5 Hz at room temperature. Decrease in AC conductivity and Dielectric constant of the MFMO was observed. Decrease in AC conductivity is attributed to blockade of path by Mo ions in the B-sites. Hence these properties suggest the possible use of these ferrites in high frequency and microwave devices applications.
