This presentation will discuss the electric power industry's clean energy transformation-built on a baseline of affordable, reliable and safe electricity-and progress to date in transitioning the energy mix, including reaching 38 percent zero-carbon generation, and major reductions in air emissions of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, mercury and hazardous air pollutants. Keys to building on this progress are integrating more renewables; continued use of nuclear energy and natural gas; advancing new and next-generation technologies such as energy storage; and continued investments in the energy grid and electric transportation, including charging infrastructure.
