Voltage sag is the frequently occurring power quality problem in the distribution system. It causes mal-functioning of sensitive equipment like ASD, PLC, and electric vehicle (EV) charging station. In the case of EV charging, voltage sag affects the process of charge submission to the vehicle being charged. In this work, MATLAB/SIMULINK is used to analyse the effects of voltage sag on grid fed DC-bus EV charging station. The simulation results present the effect of DC-link voltage, fluctuations in charging current, battery voltage and disturbance in SOC of battery. Different voltage sag mitigation techniques for EV charging are briefly discussed in this paper.
