Conventional steel used in construction industry shows high tensile strength and hence it is used as Main bar, distribution bar and stirrups in structural elements. And now, the stirrups in the beam element is replaced by synthetic polymer, it is termed as Synthetic polymer beam. Synthetic polymer reinforced concrete (SPRC) beams have proved that the strength is equal to the normal conventional concrete beam. In this paper strength and energy gain factor for both conventional and SPRC beams were compared, and also the defected conventional beam is retrofitted with synthetic polymer as external windings and plastered with cement mortar. Strength gained after retrofitting is more than the strength of the beam before fracture.
