Wireless sensor networks are real time distributed network; they are composed by a number of sensor nodes which collaborate to sense the same event in a geographical area. The hostile deployment nature in which they are scattered makes them prone to many types of attacks. In this paper the focus is especially on the flooding attack in where a malicious node sends a large number of RREQs (Route Requests) in a short period to a destination node that does not exist in the network. It is a denial of service attacks effective in link layer on wireless sensor networks. In this paper flooding attack has being simulated on AODV routing protocol in order to analyze the effect of this attack on network performance especially on end-to end Delay. Performance is studied with and without Flooding attack. NS2 TOOL has been used in our simulation.
