Spectral classification for a robust clustering in an Heterogenous Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor network is one of the most attractive areas of research. It consists of low power, low-cost and energy-constrained sensors. Those sensors monitor and report data to the sink, where the supervisor can analyze and take decisions. Saving energy and extending the wireless sensor network lifetime, occupies great challenges. The clustering procedure reduces strongly direct transmissions which consumes hardly the nodes energy. This work proposes a new protocol called “The Efficient Routing Protocol for HWSN” (ERP-HWSN). This protocol uses spectral graph theory in Unbalanced Graph in order to divide the network such that each cluster contains the highest inter-correlated sensors. The results show that our protocol enlarges largely the network lifetime compared to the DEEC one.
