摘要

The current condition and configuration of the voltage-elevating substation of the Dr. Gabriel Terra hydroelectric power station, located in the border of the departments of Tacuarembo? and Durazno in Uruguay, has proved to put the stability of the National Interconnected System at risk. The equipment is outdated and/or at the end of its useful life, it is at a floodable level, the maintenance of certain equipment puts at risk the safety of the personnel and its electrical configuration prevents certain maneuvers as well as the implementation of the necessary protections. Moreover, the limited space available prevents the use of AIS technology. This paper details the considerations taken into account in the reengineering study carried out in order to give a theoretical solution to the present problems.
