Recently,microfluidic cell culture devices,known as organs-on-a-chips,have attracted greatattention because organ-on-a-chips can mimic a physiological function of a living tissue in vitro.The mimicked tissues have been mainly evaluated by optical microscopy and fluorescenttracers.However,the conventional methods have problems with cell invasiveness,temporaland spatial resolution.Electrochemical measurement system has a promising to solve theproblem and our research group has developed various electrochemical measurement systemsfor cell functions.In this poster,we report an electrochemical measurement of permeability ofan endothelial monolayer in a microfluidic device,utilizing scanning electrochemicalmicroscopy (SECM).
