We used Raman spectroscopy to assess the distribution of polylactide (PLA) and gelatin in electrospun nanofibers made of a PLA-gelatin mixture in a common solvent. We identified several characteristic peaks in the reference Raman spectra of PLA and gelatin. All these peaks were present in the spectra obtained from the PLA-gelatin blend nanofibers indicating PLA and gelatin form a mixture in a single nanofiber.
