摘要

There is an urgent need to evaluate new vaccine protocols against emerging influenza A virus (IAV) strains in pigs. The heterologous prime-boost vaccination protocol has been evaluated in many species against a variety of pathogens.13 This approach involves presenting antigen to the immune system in more than one way; i.e. using different strains of a pathogen, different adjuvants, different inoculation routes, and/or different types of vaccines (modified live vs. inactivated). Heterologous prime boost vaccination with whole inactivated virus (WIV) influenza vaccines has been demonstrated to broaden the antibody response and increase protection in pigs against H3N2 strains.4 We conducted a vaccination-challenge experiment to evaluate the efficacy of different heterologous prime-boost vaccination protocols.
