Wireless access technologies in the Internet of things solutions (IoT) are key in the digital transformation of the economy. This is mainly due to the need for the IoT solution elements to access the control system at any time in any place with guaranteed required quality. The network infrastructure in the IoT solution is created on the basis of package technologies and implements the principles of self-organization. Radio access standards in such a network infrastructure are a specialized technology designed to solve certain types of tasks, fully or partially supplementing other standards and being interchangeable in various solutions. New technologies in wireless communications offer additional opportunities and requirements for self-organizing networks. In the absence of the established network infrastructure inherent in traditional wireless networks, the most important for managing wireless self-organizing networks is the media access control protocol (MAC). The MAC protocol in the IoT wireless network allows nodes to access the media and manages the signal power. Due to the absence in many such cases of a central dispatcher the regulation of user access to the wireless environment requires a more complex, distributed control mechanism at the MAC level. The MAC protocol, in fact, can be considered as the main characteristic of a particular wireless access technology. The key factor for medium access protocols for IoT networks is the actual method of using the transmission medium. Early methods used a common media environment for all nodes, modern approaches can use multiple channels for more efficient use of the environment, but due to simplicity, shared access to the environment continues to occupy a significant position. The article proposes a graph-matrix approach for modeling the functioning of a IoT network.
