This article discusses the application of an aperture synthesis algorithm based on a short-pulse radar. Due to the modern element base, it has become possible to create small-sized broadband radars, and the placement of this device on unmanned aerial vehicles opens up opportunities for observing a small area of with a detailed resolution. The device uses a short-pulse probe signal to obtain a wide spectrum of the reflected signal. The short duration, and as a consequence, the wide spectrum of the reflected signal, allow providing high range resolution and stable operation of the radar in conditions of multiple reflections from local objects. To increase the image quality, an algorithm for increasing the azimuth resolution using aperture synthesis is used.
