Electrochemical Synthesis of Carbonyl 60Fullerene Derivatives

Over the past decades, a great deal of methods have been developed towards the efficient synthesis of carbonyl derivatives of C_(60). However, the synthesis multi-functionalized carbonyl fullerenes through the electrochemistry has never been fulfilled. In this work, the regioselective and highly efficient electrochemical method for direct acylation and carboxylation of a [60]fulleroindoline has been developed.1
