Synthesis and Self-assembly of Macrocyclic Dinuclear Pt(II) and Pt(IV) Complexes

Metal-containing nanofibers have attracted much attention due to their metal array-specific features such as electronic, magnetic, optical, and catalytic properties. Our laboratory has previously reported a macrocyclic ligand L1 with two inward phenanthroline moieties and lipophilic alkyl side chains,1,2 and one-dimensional self-assembly of its dinuclear PdII complexes [Pd2(H-2L1)Cl2] into nanofibers has been also demonstrated.3
