The self-assembly of biopolymers to build complex chiral architectures is of great importance for various sophisticated functions in biological systems. In order to mimic such self-assembled biological systems, the supramolecular polymerization of small chiral molecules to form preferred-handed helical assemblies has rapidly evolved into one of the most attractive research areas in the field of supramolecular chemistry, due to their unique applications. Although a wide variety of artificial helical polymers and oligomers (foldamers) have been synthesized, there are limited examples of supramolecular helical polymers assembled from helical foldamers and polymers having an internal helical cavity with guest inclusion ability.
