Synthesis of boron-containing azapeptides

Boron-containing peptidomimetics have been attracted much attention in recent years. Boronic acid can bind to hydroxy groups of amino acids and sugars owing to a vacant p orbital of boron atom. Bortezomib, an anticancer drug, interacts with the hydroxyl group of the threonine residue in the active site of proteasome.
