In 2011, a large amount of radioactive cesium leaked and spread over a large area of the water environment proximal to the nuclear accident sites at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station.1 The r-Cs is the most problematic radioactive contaminant associated with nuclear fallout and radioactive liquid waste due to its moderate half-life time (30.2 years), highenergy γ-ray emissions, and biological interactions, which is similar to those of potassium.2 For the r-Cs decontamination, copper hexacyanoferrate, analogue of Prussian blue is known as an excellent adsorbent with high selectivity, capacity, and applicability for trace concentrations of cesium.
