Metal nanoparticle catalysts have attracted much attention as heterogeneous catalysts because of their instinct characteristics derived from quantum size effect and robustness. In spite of many progresses of metal nanoparticle catalysts, examples of chiral metal nanoparticle catalysts are still limited. Especially, for asymmetric C-C bond formation reaction, one of the most important reactions that can generate useful chiral compounds, there are many room to be improved.
