The possession of a vehicle gives citizens the ease of travel, very important in large cities where destinations are distant. However, the tranquility of having a vehicle is often compromised by the lack of spaces to park correctly. Additionally, this problem is aggravated by the lack of courtesy of drivers who park their vehicles in a disorderly manner affecting free movement in the streets and often blocking the movements of other vehicles in the parking areas. This problem causes discomfort among users, often unnecessary accidents and loss of time. The Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá Regional Center of Veraguas, which lives this reality, has been taken as a case study, where every year the number of vehicles that use the parking facilities of the center is increased. Currently the center does not have any strategy to provide a better service to users. In this sense, a design of an intelligent system is proposed that allows users to graphically visualize the availability of seats in the available parking spaces. The system proposes using sensors to monitor in real time the status of the spaces and show on a screen, strategically located at the entrance of the parking lot, if there are spaces available. The application proposes the use of the concept of software agents with defined roles to perform the defined tasks of the system. This work presents a proposed model, the available technologies for its development and at the end the conclusions of the work are presented.
