A miniaturized UWB microstrip antenna is proposed in this letter. The microstrip antenna with a compact size of 28 mm × 37mm × 1.59 mm is composed of a metal patch with double nested U-shape slots and double nested inverted-U-shape slots, a dielectric slab and a ground plate with double inverted-L-shape slots. The proposed antenna has been designed using FR4 as a substrate with dielectric constant of 4.4. The antenna is fed by a microstrip line of 50 Ω. The Ansoft HFSS simulation results show that the relative bandwidth of the antenna is 71.5% and the bandwidth is from 6.41 GHz to 13.56GHz for S11 ≤ -10 dB.
