Solid solutions of (1-x)BaNb2O6 - xSrNb2O6 (x = 0.00 ÷ 1.0, Δx = 0.1) systems had been prepared by two-stage solid-phase synthesis followed by sintering in accordance with the common ceramic processing technology and their dissipative characteristics had been studied in the frequency range of (4 ÷ 8) GHz. It is indicated that the maximum values of microwave absorption are achieved around interphase boundaries of various nature. A suggestion made that it happens due to defective situation that develops in corresponding media as a result of bond opening during structure rearrangements, accumulation of vacancies and impurity phases. A conclusion is drawn concerning potential usage of the studied solid solutions in creation of absorbing devices for various purposes.
